Overview

ETCH has worked closely with the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs for years, designing Luskin Forum, the school’s flagship publication for alumni, donors, faculty, and prospective students. The magazine serves as both a storytelling platform and a marketing tool, highlighting the school’s research, community leadership, and real-world impact.

The Challenge

The publication needed to balance the depth of an academic journal with the visual energy of a modern magazine. It had to engage a wide audience of alumni, students, and donors while staying true to UCLA’s brand and communicating the school’s innovation and influence in public affairs.

Our Approach

We built a flexible editorial design system featuring bold layouts, refined typography, and a cohesive visual rhythm that keeps each issue fresh while maintaining continuity. Our role includes concept development, full project management, photo art direction, and original illustration. Working closely with writers, photographers, and printers, we manage the process from start to finish to ensure every issue is polished and on brand.

The Solution

Luskin Forum has become a cornerstone of UCLA Luskin’s communications strategy, strengthening alumni engagement and supporting fundraising and recruitment efforts.
